MM6 Maison Margiela × Salomon XT - the meeting of the worlds of gorpcore and high end

MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon present a joint project - the XT collection for the fall/winter 2025 season, in which trail silhouettes intertwine with urban style, and shoes are complemented by clothing inspired by the outdoor classic.

The collection includes three new colorways of the shoe: Vanilla Ice/Black-Green Haze, Black/Cherry Tomato-White and Black/Silver Phantom. Each pair combines Salomon's proven technical construction—mesh, supportive panels, and a distinctive outsole—with Margiela's fashion-forward approach. Distinctive features include the MM6 branding (the number 6 in a circle) and the Deep Black, Abbey Stone, and Oatmeal Heather colorways, which take the collection from the mountain trails to the city streets.

But the footwear doesn't stop there. Alongside the XT silhouettes comes a clothing line – a waterproof parka with down filling, a reversible jacket, and an anorak inspired by the sportswear archetype, as well as Motomesh LS and wide-leg trousers made from the same fabric. The overall look captures the spirit of the early 2000s, with a clear nod to Margiela's aesthetic – oversize, technical details, layering, and a color palette that doesn't overwhelm, but has character.

The design is a perfect blend of two worlds: Salomon provides a core of outdoor functionality, while Margiela adds artistic craftsmanship and urban style. The collection is suitable for city streets, but as a Salomon creation, it's equally at home outdoors. This combination will appeal to avid outdoor adventurers who appreciate fashionable and well-thought-out designs.
