Jordan Brand is preparing another iteration of the iconic Air Jordan 4 "Black Cat," which will return just in time for Black Friday. This time, fans will receive not only the classic design but also a detail missing from previous releases: the Nike Air logo on the heel.
The first "Black Cats" debuted in 2006 , inspired by one of Michael Jordan's nicknames, Black Cat . This nickname was given to him by his teammates on the court, emphasizing his instincts, agility, and precision in the game. The colorway was entirely black—from the suede upper to the laces and midsole—symbolizing simplicity, strength, and timelessness.
In 2020, the model saw a reissue that quickly flew off shelves and now commands high prices on the secondary market. The 2025 edition returns with the same raw energy, but with one significant nod to history – the Nike Air logo replacing the Jumpman. This small but significant detail evokes the spirit of the original releases from the '80s and '90s, which holds immense sentimental value for many collectors.
A black suede upper, tonal details, and a matte finish give the shoe a sleek yet combative feel. It's this versatility that has made the "Black Cat" one of the most worn and reinterpreted Jordans of all time.
The new edition will release on November 28, 2025 , right in the middle of Black Friday fever. The model will be available for purchase through Nike SNKRS and select partner stores.
